In 2016, Pop invited Lipstate to open for him during the Post Pop Depression tour. Pop first learned of Sarah Lipstate, who records under the name Noveller, and Leron Thomas while hosting his BBC Radio 6 Music show he contacted them to express his appreciation, which eventually led to collaborations. The record has been referred to as a work of ambient music, I was interested in working with some fine musicians who broke out of the normal time and space." Pop also called it "an album in which other artists speak for me, but I lend my voice". There's nothing wrong with it, but it wasn't what I felt at this time. In an interview with Exclaim!, he elaborated: "I wanted to wiggle out of the frame of rock instrumentation that I'd gotten encased in over time. He went on to say that after touring in support of Post Pop Depression, he felt "drained" and wanted to be "free", so the album "just kind of happened to me, and I let it happen". Iggy Pop described the album as "reflect" the exhaustion of post-tour life" as well as "uniquely somber and contemplative". A music video for the album's second single, "James Bond", was released on August 14, 2019. It features contributions from Noveller and Leron Thomas, and the title track was released along with the album announcement. Pop released seven more solo albums from 1990-2009, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010 (along with The Stooges). Pop also contributed songs to the movies Repo Man, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, and Trainspotting. His 1986 album Blah Blah Blah (featuring " Real Wild Child (Wild One)" and " Winners & Losers"-co-written by Steve Jones) launched a successful tour. In the 1980s Pop released five albums, but it wasn't until after "China Girl" was released by Bowie that Pop made a comeback. In 1971 Pop met David Bowie, and he produced an album for the reformed Stooges, but the band broke up for good in 1975, and Pop went solo, but reunited with Bowie, toured with him, then both went into rehab to deal with their drug addictions, after which Bowie and Pop co-wrote songs for Pop's first two solo albums (one of which, "China Girl", would be covered by Bowie in 1983). The Stooges recorded their first two solo albums, neither of which sold well, and the group disbanded in 1970 due to Pop's growing heroin addiction. During this time he began the practice of "stage-diving"-jumping off the stage into the crowd.
